Calla Lilies with Blue

I was asked to make a cake keeping two things in mind.... calla lilies and the color blue. Blue is such a popular color, but I have a hard time with blue cakes. I just haven't seen many blue ones that I thought were completely successful... maybe it's the image of blue teeth after eating the cake that pops in my head!!!

After finishing this cake, I was happy with the end result! The shade of blue is kind of pretty, and calla lilies are always a fun flower to make. I think decorating this cake has changed my mind a bit... maybe blue cakes aren't so bad after all!
